Friday

We made it through our first full week! I was very impressed by our fantastic fifth grade writers. They seem very excited and enthusiastic. Ask your student what list they chose for journal writing this week.

We did make it through the week with NO HOMEWORK! I appreciate your support in reinforcing positive classroom behaviors. If solid expectations are set in the beginning of the school year, we will have fewer disruptions in learning. I am happy to say that every fifth grader has made an effort to make good choices.

Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget that Monday is a holiday! Enjoy your labor Day.

Tuesday

Unfortunately the fifth grade had a very hard time following the school rules today. We achieved HOMEWORK on the board. This means that there will be a weekend homework packet distributed on Friday which will be due on Monday. If it is not turned in your student will serve an afterschool "study" hall. If you have any questions please let me know. There has been some talk of trying to earn erasing a letter but it isn't hopeful. Unless I announce otherwise, I would expect weekend homework!

For Homework tonight:

Language Arts: Bridge to Terabithia-Chapter 1
English workbook page 69
Writer's notebook entry based on a small moment from your all about winter vacation entry.

Math: Worksheet 10.3- Students can use a calculator to generate answers but must be able to show work and explain how to get the correct quotient.

Spelling: Test on Friday!

Have a good night.
