Language Arts: Be prepared to discuss Chapter 4 in "The mixed up files" and bring a completed connector sheet to class.
MATH: Review page 159 # 1-25 in your text. Please be sure to do these problems neatly and show your work. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ IT!
Social Studies: Quizzy test tomorrow. Study your vocabulary and the questions from the review page that were emphasized today.
Spelling: Test on Friday!

SOcial Studies: Please use the vocabulary study sheet that was passed out today to study for the quiz on Thursday. The responses to the questions on page 141 are due tomorrow. We will be having a study session after lunch.
Tomorrow is Wednesday and we will be working together on research questions. By Thursday each student should have a research folder ready. We will be working together in class to finish this part of the project.

We have started a new novel and there will be a math test over chapter 7 next Friday, as well as a cumulative spelling test. Enjoy your weekend. The next spelling test is Friday, October 24th. The words are on the newsletter this week. Please practice with your student.
We will begin reading "The Mixed-up Files of Basil E. Frankweiler" next week. Through this book, we will practice the literature circle jobs that will become very important in subsequent novel assignments.
Also we will be talking about our research paper assignment next week. Please be looking for a project sheet similar to the one given out for our first publishing.

NO HOMEWORK
There is no homework tonight. We did start chapter 7 in our math book. It is all about single and double digit multiplication. Practicing double digit multiplication problems would be helpful.
We also picked our explorers for the next big writing project. We will be compiling a research paper on an early explorer to the new world. Ask your student who they will be researching.

We have moved our writer's celebration from The 17th to THIS FRIDAY, THE 10TH! In the interest of accommadating everyone's schedule and celebrating quickly, we are going to pull it off on Friday. Parents are invited if you are available. We will have some juice and little treats. The party starts at 1:15 in our classroom.
Have an easy fast.
